Infineon expands NFC IP and technology portfolio; strengthens leadership position in the IoT markets |

Munich, Germany – 9 February, 2022 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) closed the acquisition of an NFC patent portfolio from France Brevets and Verimatrix. Infineon is now the sole owner of this patent portfolio, which consists of nearly 300 patents in various countries. All patents are related to near field communication (NFC) technologies: either technologies embedded in an integrated circuit (IC) such as Active Load Modulation (ALM) or technologies that enhance NFC usability at the user level. The patent portfolio was previously monetized by France Brevets. It is now fully integrated into Infineon's patent administration. |

Together they offer developers an easy and seamless process to capture data from Infineon XENSIV™ sensors, train Machine Learning (ML) models, and deploy real-time inferencing models directly on ultra-low power PSoC™ 6 microcontrollers (MCUs). This can be completed by using the SensiML Analytics Toolkit and ModusToolbox™. The pre-assembled kit provides everything needed to get the motor spinning in a matter of seconds: a market-proven chipset combined with pre-flashed sample software as well as a BLDC motor – only a power supply needs to be connected. Therefore, the motor control kit enables rapid prototyping and evaluation of low voltage motor controls. Typical applications include auxiliary pumps, cooling fans, HVAC blowers, or any other application that uses 3-phase low voltage BLDC motors. |
