06.10.2022 13:00 Fostering electromobility and green energy: Infineon opens new site for the production of high-power semiconductor modules in Cegléd
Munich, Germany, and Cegléd, Hungary – 6 October 2022 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) has opened a new factory in Cegléd, Hungary. The factory is dedicated to the assembly and testing of high-power semiconductor modules to drive the electrification of vehicles, which is key in the improvement of the world’s CO2 balance. In addition, Infineon has invested in further production capacities for high-power modules that enable green energy, from wind turbines and solar modules to energy-efficient drives.
05.10.2022 14:30 Infineon makes smart and sustainable homes based on Matter a reality
Munich, Germany – 5 October 2022 – Smart home solutions increase consumers’ convenience while reducing energy consumption and lowering consumers’ carbon footprints. However, different device ecosystems, products and protocols have made implementing a truly connected, secured smart home difficult until now. The Connectivity Standards Alliance’s (CSA) newly released Matter 1.0 specification helps alleviate these challenges by offering one unified standard for device makers to follow for many smart home applications including smart locks, lighting, thermostats, security systems, sensors and media devices. Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), a world leader in IoT and power solutions, has joined CSA and more than 280 companies to pioneer the game-changing Matter standard to make ease-of-use, interoperability, security and sustainability a reality in the smart home.
04.10.2022 10:15 Infineon joins EEBus Initiative e.V., supporting the standardization for energy management systems
Munich, Germany – 4 October, 2022 – One key way to address the global trends of an increasing share of volatile renewable energy sources and a growing electrification in mobility is to improve system integration of electricity consumers from all sectors. Implementation requires holistic thinking: from green power generation to a stable and efficient grid infrastructure to storage and consumption. Bidirectional charging contributes significantly to this by, for example, allowing the electricity stored in the battery of an electric vehicle to be used to supply the power grid or electrical appliances in the home when needed. However, energy generators and consumer devices need a standardized language to be able to communicate.
22.09.2022 10:15 Infineon introduces a new single-stage flyback controller for battery charging applications, enabling hassle-free and scalable designs
Munich, Germany – 22 September 2022 – Battery-powered appliances, one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments, require energy-efficient, robust, and cost-effective battery charging. For this reason Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) extends its offering of AC-DC controller ICs by introducing the ICC80QSG single-stage PWM controller for flyback topologies. The IC is tailored for battery charger applications offering scalable power designs of up to 130 W – when optimized using CoolMOS™ P7 Superjunction (SJ) MOSFETs. It is also suitable for adapter, printer, PC, TV, monitor, set-top box, and audio amplifier applications.
