Westermo Academy Expands Cybersecurity Training Offer with Limes Security Partnership
Västerås, Sweden, April 7, 2026 – Westermo today announced a strategic partnership with Limes Security, a leading European OT (Operational Technology) Security expert company, to significantly strengthen its training portfolio within the Westermo Academy. This collaboration introduces two new online courses - Secure Networks: Awareness and Secure Networks: Fundamentals – designed to give customers an accessible and practical starting point for improving network security.

As cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure continue to increase, organizations face the challenge of understanding where to begin strengthening their OT environments. Westermo and Limes Security share a common mission to close this knowledge gap by delivering high-quality, experience-based cybersecurity education to engineers, operators, and system owners.

Two New Online Courses Now Available

Beginning in April 2026, Westermo Academy customers will have access to two new e-learning courses offered in collaboration with Limes Security.

Secure Networks: Awareness provides an introduction to basic OT security concepts and is ideal for professionals who are learning the fundamentals of cybersecurity.

Secure Networks: Fundamentals provides a more in-depth and structured approach to secure network design and is based on the practical OT security knowledge of the experts at Limes Security.

Both courses are available online via the Westermo Academy learning platform and are designed for flexible, self-directed learning.

Strengthening Industrial Network Security Together

Limes Security, headquartered in Austria, brings extensive expertise in OT security – including incident response heritage linked to high-profile cybersecurity cases. Their industry-focused training programs and robust service portfolio complement Westermo’s long-established strength in industrial networking. Through this partnership, Westermo can offer customers broader capabilities and deeper insights to help ensure critical systems remain secure and resilient.

“Combining Westermo’s industrial networking experience with the proven OT/IoT-security expertise of Limes Security creates a powerful value proposition for our customers,” said Ant Lane, Global Training Manager at Westermo. “These new courses provide a solid and practical starting point for strengthening OT networks.”

Thomas Brandstetter, co-founder and managing director of Limes Security GmbH, also sees added value in combining the core competencies of both companies: “This partnership with Westermo allows us to bring high-quality OT cybersecurity knowledge to a much broader audience. By combining our hands-on security expertise with Westermo’s industrial networking leadership, we help customers build secure networks based on solid real-world experience not just theory alone.”

Supporting a Secure Digital Future

The partnership reflects Westermo’s ongoing commitment to enabling customers to design, build, and maintain secure industrial communication networks. By expanding the Academy’s curriculum with accessible cybersecurity education, Westermo empowers organizations to take the first steps in protecting their systems from increasingly sophisticated threats.
