Stuttgart, Germany, 2022-05-18 – Vector has developed the first AUTOSAR-capable Ethernet switch powered by Marvell’s Brightlane™ solution. The software executed in the switch’s CPU follows the AUTOSAR methodology with respect to model definition, distribution and component development. By shifting significant parts of the networking stack to the switch, CPU ressources are freed for tasks that run more efficiently on the host microcontroller. Furthermore, Vector’s switch software enables certain security functions such as Firewalling and MACsec.

Stuttgart, GERMANY, 2022-03-18 – Effective March 15, 2022, Vector Informatik GmbH, the German-based specialist for the development and test of automotive electronics and software-based systems, has acquired 100% of the assets of US company Gimpel Software LLC. Gimpel Software was founded with the goal of making life easier for the C programmer and has been the leading pioneer of static analysis software since 1985.
18.11.2021 10:00 OBDonUDS - What's Behind the New Diagnostic Standard?
Stuttgart, GERMANY, 2021-11-18 – Vector offers a ready-to-use toolchain for the new diagnostic standard SAE J1979-2 (“OBDonUDS”). The new standard will be introduced in the USA from 2023 and will be mandatory from 2027. The SAE J1979 standard describes in detail how On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) data may be read from a vehicle using an external diagnostic device. In the future, the new OBDonUDS standard (SAE J1979-2) requires the use of UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) for reading out OBD data. Tools must be made fit for the new standard across all areas of vehicle diagnostic development.
