| Certified for Safety Projects: Development and Test Platform CANoe From Vector |
| Reduced Tool Qualification Effort When Developing Safety-Related Systems in the Automotive, Medtech and Railway Industries |
| Stuttgart, Germany, 2026-05-12 – Vector has received safety certification for its CANoe platform from TÜV SÜD. Thus, an independently tested tool for the development and testing of safety-related systems is now available. The certificate confirms that CANoe is qualified for use in development processes in accordance with IEC 61508, ISO 26262 (Automotive), IEC 62304 (MedTech), and EN 50716 (Railway). Users benefit from reduced effort for tool qualification evidence and audit preparation, greater investment security, and a reliable basis for tool-related safety assurance. The certification covers core functional areas of CANoe. These include analyzing communication flows and automated testing of virtual and real systems. It also includes simulation, diagnostics, and stimulation mechanisms for targeted fault and response analysis. Thus, the TÜV confirms that CANoe meets the requirements for a T2 offline support tool for safety-related developments. For users, certification means a significant reduction in the workload of day-to-day project work. Using a certified tool significantly reduces the effort required for in-house tool qualification because an independent assessment is already available. At the same time, planning reliability increases because CANoe is a tested tool that supports compliance with regulatory requirements and minimizes risks in safety-related projects. This is a decisive factor, especially with long product life cycles. The four products – CANoe, CANoe MedTech, CANoe Server Edition, and CANoe MedTech Server Edition – were certified. They are qualified for all safety integrity levels according to IEC 61508 and EN 50716, all automotive safety integrity levels according to ISO 26262, and all software safety classes according to IEC 62304. Vector plans to renew CANoe's safety certification regularly in the future. These recertifications ensure that future versions of the products will meet the high requirements of the relevant safety standards. This will provide customers with a tested, future-proof tool for developing and testing their safety-related software and embedded systems in the long term.
