Nomination Committee Proposes Klaus Wucherer as Future Chairman of the Infineon Supervisory Board
Neubiberg, Germany – October 27, 2009 – The Nomination Committee of the Supervisory Board of the Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) resolved today to propose to the plenum of the Supervisory Board that Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Klaus Wucherer be appointed its future Chairman. The mandate of Max Dietrich Kley, who currently holds the office, will terminate at the end of the next Annual General Meeting on February 11, 2010. Kley has decided that he will not be running for office again.  

Wucherer has been a member of the Infineon Supervisory Board since 1999, where he heads the Strategy and Technology Committee. Wucherer was a member of the Central Management Board of Siemens AG from 2000 to 2007. Moreover, he is a member of the Supervisory Boards of SAP AG and Leoni AG. He is regarded as a profound expert of the semiconductor industry and is a recognized authority on the important future markets of Asia. A few days ago, Wucherer was elected as President of the Association for International Electrotechnical Commission Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (IEC). The IEC is responsible for the international standardization in the fields of electrotechnology, electronics and information technology.

The Annual General Meeting of Infineon Technologies AG on February 11, 2010 will decide on the composition of the shareholder side of the Supervisory Board. The new Supervisory Board will then elect its chairman. The number of mandates on the board will be reduced by two on the shareholder side and by two on the employee side, as announced.

Furthermore, the following candidates were nominated as members of the Supervisory Board:
  • Prof. Dr. Renate Koecher
  • Dr. Manfred Puffer
  • Prof. Dr. Doris Schmitt-Landsiedel
  • Dr. Eckart Suenner
  • and, as a new member, Hans-Ulrich Holdenried (58). Holdenried was chairman of the Management Board of Hewlett-Packard GmbH Germany from 2004 to 2008.
