ERNI Electronics Expands its High-Speed Connector Portfolio |
High density ERmet ZDHD available in 4-pair versions |
Adelberg - August 21, 2014 - With the ERmet ZDHD family ERNI electronics has developed a high density high-speed connector system which support data rates of up to 25 Gbps. Based on ERmet ZDHD connectors demanding 100 Gbps systems ( with four 25 Gbps channels according to the IEEE 802.3bj standard) can be built. In addition to the existing 6-pair version ERNI now also offers compact 4-pair male and female parts of the ERmet ZDHD connectors. Besides higher data rates Telecom/Datacom vendors demand for higher contact density with a lot of differential signal contacts /inch. The ERmet ZDHD system fulfills these needs, offering 14 contact rows/inch with six or four differential signal pairs/row. In total 84 respectively 56 differential signal pairs/inch are available. To reach this high signal density the pitch between the rows was reduced to only 1.8 mm while the pitch between the differential pairs within a row was shrinked to 3.6 mm. Prerequisite of this size reduction is a downsized pressfit technology with 0.46 mm dia. hole. These miniaturized vias enable an optimized crosstalk behavior. Robust alignment guides on male side walls support a reliable mating. Engineering samples of the 4-pair ERmet ZDHD connectors are already available. |
