| The latest AMP SMC essential connectors offer a performance-enhanced solution for cost-sensitive applications, delivering robustness and reliability. |
| GALWAY, Ireland June 25, 2026 TE Connectivity, a world leader in connectors and sensors, is presenting their latest AMP SMC essential connector with a 1.27 mm pitch. It complements the existing fine pitch portfolio and, thanks to various configurations, offers developers and designers a wide range of options to tailor their board-to-board and board-to-wire solutions even better to the requirements of the various applications. Greater design flexibility thanks to intelligent portfolio extension With the AMP SMC essential connector, TE is responding to specific requirements of its customers and offering a tailored solution. It has been designed to be an attractively priced solution for industrial applications. The AMP SMC delivers the level of performance required for most customer applications while still supporting: High-current-carrying capacity (up to 1.7 A) Temperature resistance up to 125 °C. Vibration and shock requirements that comply with IEC 60603, Class 2 Compared to the ERNI SMC connector, the balance between meeting minimum requirements and limiting top performance offers an improved value/price relationship for those customer applications which are not exposed to harsh environments. The AMP SMC essential connector fits efficiently into TE's product portfolio for 1.27 mm pitch board-to-board and board-to-wire connectors. It complements TE's established ERNI SMC connector, which also features a 1.27 mm pitch, but is engineered to meet high vibration and shock requirements as well as a higher number of mating cycles. It is specifically designed for demanding and harsh environments. The vibration and shock performance complies with IEC 60603, class 1. Both SMC series attract designers and installers Both connectors from TE the newly developed AMP SMC essential connector as well as the ERNI SMC connector provide high contact reliability thanks to double-sided spring contacts. Locating pegs increase mechanical strength. The polarization of both connector series improves secured mating. Lead-in chamfers simplify assembly and support a high misalignment tolerance of ±0.7 mm, especially during blind mating, e.g., in areas that are difficult to access.
