AMP Max connectors deliver excellent high-power performance and long-term durability for demanding industrial and building automation environments
GALWAY, Ireland – May 21, 2026 – TE Connectivity, a world leader in connectors and sensors, is expanding its board-connectivity portfolio with the introduction of latest AMP Max high-performance connectors. These connectors offer exceptional current carrying capacity and a compact design that reduces space requirements, making them highly suitable for ventilation and air conditioning, warehouse automation, power systems, robotics or humanoids and other applications, such as control systems, solar inverters, energy storage, and lighting.

With an exceptional current-carrying capacity of up to 32 A, hot-plug-capable AMP Max connectors can help industrial and building technology systems to manage high currents at the board level, supporting more efficient and reliable operation. The connectors deliver high-quality performance and long-term durability, even under harsh environmental conditions.

High performance in space-restricted areas

AMP Max high-performance connectors support a voltage rating of 600 V AC/DC and feature a compact 5.7 mm pitch, help in enabling high-power transmission in even the most space-restricted applications. This combination of high electrical performance and small form factor improves space utilization and simplifies integration across a wide range of industrial installations.

Designed with a ruggedized construction, AMP Max connectors also offer optional sealed soft-shell versions for enhanced protection, providing for reliable operation in harsh environments.

Flexibility in assembly and application

AMP Max connectors offer flexible plating options to meet diverse applications and cost requirements. Tin-plated version supports up to 30 mating cycles and serves as a cost-effective solution for standard operating environments. Variants with PdNi + Au flash* plating support a minimum of 100 mating cycles and deliver outstanding corrosion resistance for more demanding applications. Supported wire sizes from AWG 10 to AWG 20 helps to ensure broad compatibility across a wide range of designs.

Developed specifically for automated pick-and-place production, the latest connectors support efficient, high-volume manufacturing. Flexible configuration options – including sealed and unsealed pin headers for Through-Hole Reflow (THR) processes – simplify integration and improve producibility. Surface-mount technology (SMT) variants are planned for release later in 2027 upon demand.

Vertical and horizontal alignment with secondary locking mechanism

To help ensure layout flexibility and more secure, reliable assembly, AMP Max connectors offer both vertical and horizontal* alignment options. Integrated TPA (Terminal Position Assurance) functionality, and secondary locking mechanism provide high pull-out force, enhancing connection security. Flexible mounting systems and multiple keying options support fast and convenient mating while effectively preventing mis-mating.

An integrated screw-lock option further improves vibration resistance and helps ensure high sealing integrity. The screw-lock design achieves an IP67 water-resistance rating, making it well suited for harsh outdoor applications. For less demanding environments, TE also offers splash-proof and dust-protected variants with medium protection ratings (IP65, IP56). These latch- or clip-based designs support faster and easier installation, while unsealed versions are available for standard operating conditions.
