PROVERTHA Expands its WireClip Portfolio with Extremely Compact 2-Row Versions
Space saving and high reliable Wire-to-Board solutions
Pforzheim – October 20, 2015 -  PROVERTHA expands its comprehensive WireClip portfolio on high reliable Wire-to-Board solutions with 2-row variants. The new 2-row WireClip is the most compact Wire-to-Board solution to date. The technology provides an economical and space-saving solution with ready-for-connection WireClip cable assembly with a minimal installation height.

The WireClip from PROVERTHA has proven itself in any situation where the cable connection has to be completely fail-safe and a space-saving solution is required. These are process-safe, functional connections of single strands and individual conductors of round and sheathed cables with many different customer-specific configurations.

The patented WireClip consists of a specially constructed plastic part with integrated snap-in board lock. The single strands, which have been twisted and tin-plated during cable fabrication beforehand, are inserted into this, and are angled and cut to size in a device.

The technology has proven itself millions of times in the automotive industry; there is hardly a vehicle manufacturer that does not already use WireClip in its vehicles in safety-related systems in the vehicle safety and steering wheel areas. The WireClip is available as a 90° degree version or a straight variant, and also as a low-profile version. PROVERTHA can also supply customized designs such as overmolded variants

The new 2-row WireClip is extremely compact. In comparison to a 7-pin standard WireClip, the new 2-row WireClip for 0.5 mm² strands (HCV207) with the same number of pins requires approximately 15 % less space on the PCB, for example. The space saving is significantly greater compared to alternative solutions. The component height for the 7-pin 2-row WireClip is only 6.5 mm at a length of 14 mm.

The current range of 2-row WireClips includes versions for strands with AWG20 and AWG22 (0.50 mm² or 0.35 mm²) and pin numbers of 3, 5, 7 and 9 pins.
