21.09.2021 14:15 Tiny Power Management IC from Analog Devices Charges Wearables and Hearables Four Times Faster
MUNICH, Germany – September 21, 2021 – The new MAX77659 single-inductor multiple output (SIMO) power management IC (PMIC) with integrated switch-mode buck-boost charger from Analog Devices, Inc. charges wearables, hearables and Internet of Things (IoT) devices faster and in less space than any other PMIC available today. The MAX77659 SIMO PMIC delivers over four hours of play time after a short, ten-minute charge, and uses a single inductor to power multiple rails, reducing the bill of materials (BOM) by 60 percent and shrinking total solution size by 50 percent.
20.09.2021 14:15 Clinical-Grade AFE from Analog Devices Measures Four Vital Signs for Remote Patient Monitoring Devices
MUNICH, Germany – September 20, 2021 – Simplify the design of wearable remote patient monitoring (RPM) devices by measuring four vital signs with one MAX86178 triple-system vital signs analog front end (AFE) from Analog Devices, Inc. This single-chip AFE integrates three measurement systems (optical, ECG and bio-impedance) to obtain four common vital signs: electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), heart rate (ECG or optical PPG), blood-oxygen saturation (SpO₂) and respiration rate (using BioZ). The MAX86178 enables synchronized optical PPG and ECG timing for derived health metrics.
15.09.2021 14:15 Lowest-Power ChipDNA PUF Technology from Analog Devices Secures Embedded Devices from Edge to Cloud
MUNICH, Germany – September 15, 2021 – Today Analog Devices, Inc. unveiled the ultra-low power MAXQ1065 cryptographic controller featuring its proprietary ChipDNA™ physically unclonable functionality (PUF) technology, which offers the strongest protection for edge-to-cloud Internet of Things (IoT) nodes, including medical and wearable devices, against invasive security attacks. The security co-processor provides 30x lower power when compared to similar products and its extended lifetime and operating range make it well-suited for long-term deployments in harsh environments.
26.08.2021 19:50 Analog Devices Completes Acquisition of Maxim Integrated
WILMINGTON, Mass. – August 26, 2021 – Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADI) today announced the completion of its previously announced acquisition of Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXIM). The combination further strengthens ADI’s position as a high-performance analog semiconductor company with trailing twelve-month revenue of over $9 billion , industry leading margins, and free cash flow of over $3 billion on a pro forma basis.
18.08.2021 14:15 Maxim Integrated’s Multi-Phase AI Power Chipset Delivers Industry’s Highest Efficiency and Smallest Total Solution Size
MUNICH, Germany – August 18, 2021 – Designers of high-performance, high-power artificial intelligence (AI) systems can now achieve highest efficiency (to reduce power cost and heat) and smallest total solution size with the MAX16602 AI cores dual-output voltage regulator and the MAX20790 smart power-stage IC from Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXIM). Leveraging the current ripple cancelation benefit from Maxim Integrated’s patented coupled inductor, this AI multi-phase chipset provides a one percent efficiency improvement compared to competitive solutions, enabling greater than 95 percent efficiency at 1.8V output voltage and 200A load conditions. Furthermore, this increase in efficiency translates to a 16% reduction in wasted power. It also allows 40 percent less output capacitance compared to competitive solutions, reducing total solution size and capacitor count. The chipset provides a scalable solution for various output current requirements and is customizable to support multiple form factors. In addition, the chipset enables AI computing at the edge as well as cloud computing at the datacenter.
16.08.2021 14:15 Trinamic’s 3-Phase MOSFET Gate Driver Maximizes Battery Life and Cuts Component Count by Half
MUNICH and HAMBURG, Germany – August 16, 2021 – TRINAMIC Motion Control GmbH & Co. KG, now part of Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXIM), introduces the fully integrated TMC6140-LA 3-phase MOSFET gate driver that simplifies design and maximizes battery life of brushless direct current (DC) motor drives. The TMC6140-LA 3-phase MOSFET gate driver integrates all three bottom shunt amplifiers to provide a complete motor drive solution with 30-percent improved power efficiency, while simplifying design by reducing component count by half when compared to similar solutions.
